Friends

So the first thing we should talk about is my mental well-being, because that’s what apparently matters the most.

I think on like, a high level, I’m perfectly fine. I’m feeling good. But I will say, I’m a little isolated from old friends - one of them is really busy with school stuff and extracurriculars, and one of them had their phone taken away. So that’s that. But I made some friends at dance, so I hang out with them, and I think that’s currently working out well. In other regards though, yeah, I’m good.

Coursework

Current Status

So I’ll first have to clarify - we have not been able to find an opening in the NIOS schedule, so we’ll have to wait a little longer for me to be enrolled in NIOS. I’m currently in limbo stage. I’m a dropout, if you would like to say that :p

Maths

Maths has been going well. I’ve done around 3 chapters of RD Sharma Class 9, and I’ve already done Class 10 NCERT previously. After this I’ll do Class 10 RD Sharma, which is a harder version than NCERT. So yeah, that’s good, I guess.

German

I had my German A2 exam recently. That went quite shaky, I would say. I mean, it didn’t go terrible, but - due to some logistical complications at the exam, I was a little late, so I was a little off on the speaking part and the listening part. But the other two went well. So I don’t know yet what happened, but we’ll see soon enough. And if I did get the A2 certificate, I might go for B1. I don’t know yet.

App Development

And obviously, we must speak about the rigorous thing that even started this all - my App development.

I have done a lot of work this month. I made a new Electron app downloadable at ccr-ebon.vercel.app, which is a terminal coding assistant. I’ve been remaking my main product from scratch with the updated information I know have, so that’s going well, I would say. Haven’t started any other homeschool education stuff, but web dev is very much happening.

Chess

I recently got back into chess. I’ve been watching some tournaments, playing some online games. I haven’t played an official tournament again yet - I have to get back in form if I’m going to do that :D

I originally stopped playing the game due to burnout and feeling like I had to play it due to sunk-cost-fallacy. But now I’ve returned on my own, without any pressure; some, you could say. And I’ve been genuinely enjoying the game. I’m not thinking about “oh no, my Elo rating” and all that. So yeah, that’s been nice.

Physical Activity

Okay so this is the weak spot. I haven’t been doing much stuff other than dance, and that’s not good. I should be doing more physical activity and I need to focus on this this month. I have been going for walks, but not frequently.

Overall Verdict

I would say this has been a pretty good month. I’ve met most of my goals. The one gap is the physical activity part, and that’s the clear thing to fix going forward.

And if I had to describe this month in a few words: it’s the ending of a very old patch, and a beginning.

They say when a door closes, a new door opens. But I would like to say: when a door closes, you have to find and open the door yourself.
